Leadership focused on Sports!Board Meetings
The Team San Francisco Board of Directors typically meets monthly. The meetings cover the planning of Team Events, updates and support for our local network of sports teams, marketing and communication (website, etc.), fundraising, plans for TeamSF participation in Gay Games (uniforms, merchandise, travel/accomodations), and reports from our TeamSF Delegates to the Federation of Gay Games. The meetings follow Roberts Rules, with regard to voting and debate on various issues.Statements on Recent Board and Team Actions
The TeamSF board is on the move, gearing up for a year of great sports.2007 actions include
TeamSF's specific participation in the FGG Annual Meeting TeamSF long-range plans for Cologne 2010, savings accounts, fundraising, uniforms, etc. 2006 actions include
TeamSF Pep Rally held March 11 TeamSF Gay Games sign up events at a variety of locations TeamSF Uniform try on dates, held at sporting events, practices and in public places TeamSF Memorial Day Sports Weekend planned, promoting local sports organizations. TeamSF Gay Games Team Party planned for Chicago TeamSF agreement with Federation of Gay Games to include FGG logo on uniforms 2005 actions include:
- TeamSF new logo for 2006 approved
- TeamSF new team merchandise and uniform designs approved
- TeamSF volunteer support of several local sports events ranging from opening day of Softball to swimming and tennis tournaments, to SkateOut's Cabaret on Ice benefit show.
- TeamSF events planned, including Pride events, 365 Party, Memorial Day weekend, etc.
- Partnership Agreement with Chicago 2006
- TeamSF's decisions regarding sending an organizaed contingent to other events.
- TeamSF's recent need to protect its trademarks from infringement.
- Removal of a former board member from the board and from FGG delegate status.
Your 2008 Board
The current Team San Francisco Board for 2006 is comprised of eight members. There are two positions available, and Team San Francisco is actively seeking greater female representation on our Board! Board members are not compensated for their volunteer efforts, nor for meetings.

Tyler Cole
Tyler moved to the Bay Area in 1999 after 5 years in Reno, NV. Before that, he lived in Portland, OR, where he served on the Board of Team Portland, became a tennis player who also spent years as a Masters Swimmer and Frontrunner. Tyler enjoys Bikram yoga, snowboarding with his partner Mike and mountain biking. He is a horticulturist by training and works in a large wholesale plant nursery.
Glenn G. Galang
Glenn joined Team SF as a board member in May of 1998. An IT consultant by day and a recreational athlete by night, he likes to bike (road & mountain), run, swim (only when training for triathlons), aerobicize, ski (downhill & cross-country) and SCUBA dive on a regular basis. He co-founded the SF Unity Triathletes (one of the few gay & lesbian triathlon clubs in the world) and is a member of the SF FrontRunners. Glenn is also the Team SF Treasurer.
Garland Murphy
Garland has been a Team SF Board member since the Sydney 2002 Gay Games, and is a gold medal winning racewalker. Garland is currently the Team SF Secretary.
Sanford Smith
Sanford is the Coach of Cheer San Francisco, the Coordinator/Spokesperson for the Pride Cheerleading Association (PCA) and Cheer/Dance Coach CAL (UC Berkeley). He is a professional choreographer/performer, having produced industrials for NIKE, Wella Hair Products, Reebok and College Division I Cheer and Dance programs. Sanford has been active in LGBT fundraising, as well as youth outreach efforts for many years. He served on the City of Hopes "Workout for Hope: Aerobics Against AIDS" fundraiser as the Co-chair of the San Francisco event and Board member for 4 years. Sanford founded the Future Shock Youth Outreach Dance program in San Francisco and was the National Coordinator for Nike's Culture Shock dance teams. He has attended the Gay Games in Sydney and is presently the Western Regional Marketing Consultant for the Chicago Gay Games. His experience with coordinating large-scale events, as well as exciting energy as an MC, will benefit Team SF greatly.Team SF Honorary Board

The Honorable Dianne Feinstein, U.S. Senator from California
As California's senior Senator, Dianne Feinstein has built a reputation as an independent voice, working with both Democrats and Republicans to find common-sense solutions to the problems facing California and the Nation. Since her election to the Senate 1992, Senator Feinstein has worked in a bipartisan way to build a significant record of legislative accomplishments helping strengthen the nation's security both here and abroad, combat crime and violence, battle cancer, protect natural resources and secure millions in appropriations for Californians. Senator Feinstein serves on the Judiciary Committee, where she is the ranking member of the Terrorism, Technology and Homeland Security Subcommittee; the Appropriations Committee, where she is the Ranking member of the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Subcommittee; the Energy and Natural Resources Committee; the Select Committee on Intelligence; Homeland Security Subcommittee of Appropriations and the Rules and Administration Committee.
The Honorable Barbara Boxer, U.S. Senator from California
A forceful advocate for families, children, consumers, the environment, and her State of California, Barbara Boxer became a United States Senator in January 1993 after 10 years of service in the House of Representatives. Elected to a third term in 2004, she received more than 6.9 million votes, the highest total for any Senate candidate in American history. A strong proponent of medical research to find cures for diseases, Senator Boxer is part of a coalition to increase that critical effort. She wrote bipartisan legislation to accelerate Americas contribution to combat global HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis. As one of the first in Congress to recognize HMO abuses, she authored a Patients Bill of Rights in 1997 and continues to fight for these much-needed protections and for affordable health care.
Mark Leno, Assemblymember, 13th District of the State of California
Elected in 2002, Assemblyman Mark Leno represents the 13th State Assembly District, which encompasses the eastern portion of San Francisco, including the Castro. He is one of the first openly gay men elected to the Assembly and served as Chair of the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender) Caucus in 2004. He currently chairs the Public Safety Committee, and sits on the Appropriations, Election & Redistricting and Labor Committees. Prior to his election to the Assembly, Leno served on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors from April 1998 to November 2002.
Gavin Newsom, 42nd Mayor of the City and County of San Francisco
Gavin Newsom was elected the 42nd Mayor of the City and County of San Francisco on December 9, 2003. He was sworn into office on January 8, 2004 by his father, the Honorable William Newsom.
Mayor Gavin Newsom has made bold ideas the driving force of his administration. As Mayor, Gavin Newsom uses ideas, innovation and practical solutions to improve the quality of life for all San Franciscans. His administration draws upon San Francisco's greatest asset- the diversity and the talents of its people- to meet any challenges that face the City.
Tom Ammiano, City of San Francisco Supervisor
Tom Ammiano was elected to the Board of Supervisors in 1994 and became President of the Board of Supervisors when he was reelected with the greatest number of votes in 1998. He was the top vote getter in the 1990 San Francisco Board of Education race, and served terms as their president and vice president. He is the main architect of the San Francisco Domestic Partners Ordinance which provides equal benefits for employees of companies that contract with the City and County of San Francisco.

Thom Lynch, Executive Director, The Center
Executive Director of The Center since 2003, Thom came to San Francisco from New England in 1991. Leaving his work as a Licensed Social Worker and Substance Abuse Counselor, Thom was seeking a sense of purpose for greater causes. He arrived in SF with a friend, slept on someone's floor and made this wonderful city his home. Troubled by the City's indigent poor, he began working for the SF Food Bank and later Project Open Hand as their Deputy Director. Now enthusiastically leading The Center, he has found a perfect opportunity to blend the talents and passions that drive his work sensibilities.
John Manzon, former Executive Director, Asian & Pacific Islander Wellness Center
John is a passionate community leader dedicated to the fight of the AIDS epidemic. Under John's guidance, Asian & Pacific Islander Wellness Center, located in San Francisco, is a forerunner in providing culturally competent health education locally, nationally, and globally.

Amy Errett, CEO, Olivia Cruises
Since joining Olivia as chief executive officer in 2002, Amy's never-ending entrepreneurial creativity and a mind for business-building has put Olivia in a league of its own. Amy sees Olivia as the leading provider of lifestyle services as well as the nation's preeminent lesbian company committed to embracing, validating and promoting the lesbian community's lifestyle through travel, entertainment and more. It's Amy's passion and drive, combined with her endless energy that has enabled her to become a leader in and advocate of the lesbian, gay and bisexual community. Amy has always been dedicated to lending her resources to not-for-profit organizations.

Team San Francisco's Delegates to the Federation of Gay Games
As an official director organization of the Federation of Gay Games, Team San Francisco has two delegates to the Federation. These delegates attend annual meetings of the Federation and participate in committee work throughout the year. The delegates are charged with voting at Federation meetings in keeping with Team San Francisco's expressed opinions on various matters. The delegates are appointed at will by the Board of Directors on the basis of their experience, leadership and ability to represent the Team at the annual meetings. Delegates are occassionally reimbursed for a portion of their travel to FGG Annual Meetings, as the TeamSF budget permits, but by and large they use their own airline miles and/or finances to cover the costs.The currrent delegates for Team SF are:
